This Privacy Policy describes how the Cirka app ("we", "our", "the app") handles information when you use it on your iPhone or iPad.
Summary
- The app runs entirely on your device. We do not operate servers and we do not collect personal information.
- HealthKit data (if you enable it) stays on your device and is never transmitted.
- We do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party trackers.
- The app is free and contains no in-app purchases at this time.
1. Who We Are
Cirka is published by ArLinz, reachable at support@arlinz.com.
2. Information the App Stores Locally on Your Device
When you use the app, the following information is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:
- Home city, time zone, and sleep window that you enter during onboarding.
- Chronotype, caffeine habit, and meal preferences that you select.
- Trip details that you enter manually: airline, flight numbers, airports, departure/return dates, seat class.
- Generated plan items (sleep, light, meal, caffeine, hydration, exercise, supplement, weight-loss prompts).
- Daily check-in ratings (sleep quality, energy level) you enter during a trip.
- Optional weight-loss program settings: daily step target, eating window length.
This information stays on your device. We do not have a server, and the app does not transmit this information anywhere.
3. Health Data (HealthKit)
If you enable the HealthKit feature in Settings:
- The app requests read-only permission to access your sleep analysis samples.
- The app uses this data only to compare planned vs. actual sleep duration in the Insights screen on your device.
- HealthKit data is never written, never transmitted, and never shared with anyone, including us.
- You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Cirka.
In compliance with Apple's HealthKit Terms, we do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not disclose HealthKit data to third parties.
4. Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app schedules reminders for plan items (sleep windows, light exposure, meal timing, caffeine cutoffs, etc.). All notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by your device using Apple's UserNotifications framework. We do not run a push notification server.
5. Location Data
If you enable Weather-Aware Light Guidance in Settings, the app may use approximate destination coordinates derived from your trip's destination airport code. The app does not request access to your device's GPS or precise location. No real-time location is collected, stored, or transmitted.
6. Billing
Cirka is currently free and contains no in-app purchases or subscriptions. We do not process payments and we do not have access to any payment information.
7. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be explicit about what the app does not do:
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not collect your real-time location.
- We do not use cookies, web tracking, or analytics SDKs.
- We do not use advertising networks or behavioral targeting.
- We do not have user accounts or login systems.
- We do not sell, share, or rent any data to anyone.
- We do not transmit your trip data, sleep data, or check-in ratings off your device.
8. Data Security
Because all your data stays on your device, the security of that data depends on your device's security: passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and iCloud backup encryption (if enabled). We recommend keeping your device updated with the latest version of iOS.
9. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is rated 17+ in the App Store because it includes wellness content (sleep, supplement guidance, fasting protocols) that should be reviewed with a guardian or healthcare provider for younger users.
10. Wellness Disclaimer
Cirka is a wellness planning tool, not a medical device. The plan items it generates — including melatonin guidance, fasting windows, caffeine timing, and weight-loss prompts — are general wellness suggestions, not medical advice.
You should not start, stop, or change any medication, supplement, fasting protocol, or sleep schedule based solely on this app. Consult a qualified healthcare provider for sleep disorders, jet lag concerns, pregnancy, eating disorder history, or any condition that may be affected by fasting, supplements, or schedule changes.
11. Your Rights
Because we do not collect or store your information off your device, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on our side. To remove all data the app stores locally, you can:
- Delete the app — this removes all stored data.
- Or open the app and remove specific trips and preferences before deleting.
If you live in a region with privacy laws like GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California): you have the right to know what data we collect (this policy explains it) and the right to deletion (delete the app). Because we do not collect personal data off-device, most other rights (access, portability, correction) are satisfied by you simply having control over the data on your own device.
12. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
